Emoji in running text

The market opens at 8am every Saturday ☀️ and runs until early afternoon. You will find fresh bread 🍞, local honey 🍯, cut flowers 💐, and seasonal vegetables 🥕🥦🍅. Dogs are welcome 🐕 but please keep them on leads near the food stalls.

It rained on and off all morning 🌧️ but that did not stop the regulars. By ten o'clock the square was full, and the coffee stall had a queue stretching halfway down the lane ☕.

Skin tone variants

Some emoji support five skin tone modifiers (Fitzpatrick scale) plus the default yellow.

Flag emoji

Flag emoji do not render on Windows using the default system font. Loading Noto Color Emoji from Google Fonts overrides this for the flags section.

ZWJ sequences — joined emoji

Some emoji are assembled from simpler ones joined by a Zero Width Joiner (ZWJ). These render as a single glyph on supporting systems.

Some characters exist in both a text (monochrome) and emoji (colour) form. A variation selector controls which renders.
